PacSi training courses for processing and packaging systems
A practical introduction to simulation with PacSi
Through our PacSi training courses, we equip you with the knowledge to model, simulate and evaluate processing and packaging systems independently.
The training courses are aimed at both new users and companies that already use PacSi and wish to deepen their knowledge in specific areas. Typical participants include, for example, production planners, packaging technicians, project engineers and staff from engineering and plant design departments.
Our training courses are delivered by experienced SimPlan consultants who also use PacSi in real-world simulation projects. This means the focus is not only on operating the software, but also on its practical application to typical planning and optimisation challenges.
What you will learn in a PacSi training course
The aim of the training is to enable you to get off to a confident start with PacSi. You will learn how to build plant models, define parameters and carry out simulation experiments.
Depending on the scope of the training, the following topics, amongst others, may be covered:
- Set-up and operation of PacSi
- Modelling of processing and packaging plants
- Use of existing PacSi modules
- Mapping of machines and interlinking elements
- Modelling of buffers and material flows
- Taking faults and plant availability into account
- Incorporating operators and manual tasks
- Carrying out and comparing different scenarios
- Evaluating and interpreting simulation results
The focus is always on how PacSi can be used to support real-world planning and optimisation tasks.
PacSi Basic Training
Our basic training course is aimed at users who are new to PacSi or who wish to work independently with the software in future. It covers basic operation and provides a step-by-step introduction to creating and analysing a PacSi model.
We are currently finalising new dates for the PacSi basic training course. As soon as the dates and venues are confirmed, we will publish them on this page.
Would you like to attend a training course before then? Please get in touch.
Customised PacSi Training Courses
In addition to our standard training courses, we offer customised training programmes tailored to your specific requirements. For example, we can incorporate your existing systems, typical use cases or specific modelling questions into the training. This allows the training to be specifically tailored to the participants’ prior knowledge and the tasks within your organisation.
Customised PacSi training courses can be held at SimPlan, at your premises or as an online session, subject to agreement. A customised training course can be particularly useful if several staff members are due to work with PacSi or if specific simulation tasks are already in place.
Training course or webinar?
If you’d like to get to know PacSi first, we recommend our free PacSi / SimPacSi webinar. There, you’ll gain a concise overview of the software, typical areas of application and how it works.
A training course goes much further. The aim here is the practical application of PacSi and enabling participants to create and evaluate their own models.
Practical expertise from SimPlan
SimPlan develops PacSi and uses the software itself in simulation projects for processing and packaging plants. This project experience is directly incorporated into our training courses. In addition to teaching how to use the software, our trainers therefore also impart methodological knowledge on modelling, experimental design and the evaluation of simulation results.
Who are the PacSi training courses suitable for?
For users who are already using PacSi or wish to start using it. The training is tailored to the participants’ individual objectives and prior knowledge, and takes place in small groups at our Dresden office or, on request, on-site at the client’s premises.
